Running Piggies & Picking Pumpkins

After a week of being under the weather, Evie and I had looked forward to getting out with our good friend Cindy. We went to a pumpkin patch/dairy farm just outside of town to get a couple of pumpkins and hopefully see some cute animals.

We were laughing that this little calf had such a funny "smile", with his chicklet teeth. Do all cows have teeth this big?!

Evie loved the bunnies...

I had hoped for a ghosty-green pumpkin... but the selection was orange or orange.

I gave myself a reminder/pep-talk that Evie would be happy just to get a pumpkin or two, and it really wouldn't matter whether one was green or not. And then I found a couple that had this green veining in them.
So I was able to get something different after all!

There were tunnels to run through...

Tire horsies to swing on...

And pig races to watch...

We picked apples and peaches with Cindy about a month ago, and when we pray Evie still thanks God for Cindy and picking apples and peaches... a month later! I wondered if our pumpkin picking would become Evie's new favorite thing to be thankful for... but tonight at bedtime, we were still praying about the orchard.

We hitched a ride behind a tractor to the pumpkin field... it was bumpy!

And Evie must take after me, being particular about which pumpkin was suitable to take home, because when I looked back at the hayrack, we were the last ones in the field!

And here are the other colorful things outside of our home.

Rick the Iowa-cow-farm-boy says yes, he thinks they do. Doesn't look out of the ordinary he says, but he hasn't seen a calf up close in years.
